Macie and the Magic Veggies by Peter Contardo is a delightful addition to our home library and a wonderful story about community, empathy, and veggies! Today, I’d like to share my review of this cute children’s book, an author spotlight, PLUS an exciting giveaway for fellow parents, grandparents, and educators.

The Story of Macie and the Magic Veggies
Macie and the Magic Veggies follows the adventures of Macie, a curious five-year-old (inspired by the author’s granddaughter!) who embarks on an exciting journey to uncover the true source—and secret—of how vegetables grow.
At first, Macie believes that vegetables simply come from the grocery store. But with her wise Grandpa as her guide, she sets off on a farm adventure that changes everything. Along the way, they meet Farmer Lundyn, a friendly and spirited young farm girl who helps Macie discover the joy of planting, nurturing, and harvesting her own food.
Through this enlightening experience, Macie discovers that the true magic behind her vegetables goes far beyond soil and sunshine—it’s the love, care, and deep connection to nature that make every harvest special.
