Over the past several months, Grandpa’s Wisdom Wednesday has grown into a beloved series, with more than 30 posts sharing simple truths, heartfelt reflections, and timeless advice straight from Grandpa to Macie—and to all of us.
And today, Grandpa shares one of my very favorites:
“Life is best when you keep it simple. Faith, family, and food—that’s all I’ve ever needed to truly enjoy every single day!”
This quote holds deep significance for me, as it’s based on a conversation with my father, who recently passed away. He was (and will always remain) the inspiration behind “Grandpa,” and his wisdom continues to guide me in my personal life and work.
In a world that often feels complex and overwhelming, Grandpa’s (and my father’s) words are a powerful reminder to slow down and focus on what truly matters. By embracing the simple joys—like the comfort of faith, the love of family, and the nourishment of good food—we can find fulfillment and happiness in our everyday lives.
As Grandpa’s Wisdom Wednesday continues, I look forward to sharing more about my dad’s profound impact on me, including story ideas we dreamed up together—like Magic Dirt, which is now in development. He started his 30-year education career as a science teacher and loved the direction we’re taking with the Macieverse… though like any good mentor, he definitely had some notes 😁
Thanks for being part of this journey. There’s always more wisdom—and love—to share.
