Real helpers don’t choose the job—they just choose to help

Yup, it’s that time again… Grandpa’s Wisdom Wednesday 🌱

Today, Grandpa reminds Macie…

“Hey Little One, real helpers don’t choose the job—they just choose to help.”

After years of volunteering at school events and community fundraisers, I’ve seen a few things.

There are always folks who show up to help…

As long as it’s the “fun” job.

The one with the spotlight.

The one that looks good in pictures.

Or maybe just the one in the shade—next to the fan. 😄

But the ones who make a real difference?

They simply ask, “Where do you need me?”

Then they get to work—hauling boxes, taking out the trash, wiping down tables, or parking cars in the rain if that’s what the day calls for.

Because helping isn’t about what you feel like doing.

It’s about showing up and lending a hand where you’re needed most.

That’s the kind of heart Grandpa hopes to pass on.

And the kind of magic that grows when we help… with no spotlight needed.
